Architect Rank Reform

Architect Rank Reform

News
Since its introduction in 2012, the Architect rank has been the primary aspect of the server to recognize the talents of individuals with good or exceptional building skills. As time goes on however, administration and management for the rank and its holders have gone haywire. Informal schemes introduced along the way without proper documentation such as the temporary architect scheme have caused dissatisfaction among current architects and have also led to some cases where temporary holders of the rank abused its powers to work on their own projects instead of the projects that were assigned to them. Hence, reforms to the architect rank are needed and will be coming soon as part of Transformation 2020. Criteria for architects to be revised The current criteria for architects are to be revised…

Transformation 2020
For a long period of time, applications for citizenship have only been approved by an [Admin] or higher. In addition, the performing of background checks was outsourced to the DIU which was not very consistent in ensuring all applications got processed as DIU members were not notified of new citizenship applications. This often leads to delayed processing as not all members of staff are always around to process the applications. In an effort to improve processing time and streamline the process, we will be reorganizing the roles & responsibilities for members of staff. To summarize, Helpers will now be tasked to perform background checks and Moderators will now be given the authority to approve and promote prospective citizens. Goodbye [Tourist], hello [Visitor] After 5 years since its introduction, the Tourist…

Changes to server access

Changes to server access

News
Hello! WolvHaven has always enjoyed the continued support of all of our members and we are very appreciative of that. However, the time has come WolvHaven to start to find new sources of income in order to stay online. As a result, we, therefore, regret to announce that we will be charging a recurring fee for access to WolvHaven. All money collected from the fees will go directly to keeping our server online and further perks will be given to paying members. Apart from that, we will also be announcing a brand new rank system but more on that later. Let's get on with what most of you are wondering; what are the fees? Fees and details Standard Access Local WolvHavener US$6.99 for 1 month That's US$6.99 a month! US$13.37 for…

New Elevator Plugin

New Elevator Plugin

Official
Introducing the new Elevator Plugin! Hello WolvHaveners! When we upgraded to Minecraft 1.12.1, we included an advisory for members to refrain from using EasyElevator as the plugin was not updated in a long time and could stop working after a certain point of time. We also expressed our interest in finding a potential replacement plugin and we have recently stumbled upon a promising plugin suggestion, sent by telegram from our friends over at Epsilon. What's going to happen to EasyElevator? Before anyone freaks out, we just want to assure you that EasyElevator won't be going anywhere - at least till it stops working. EasyElevator will continue to coexist with the new Elevator plugin if the trial for Elevator passes. How do I go about installing these swaggy new elevators? Create…

Let’s Talk: Backseat Moderating

News
1 January 2018 - Let's Talk: Backseat Moderation   WolvHaven has been running for over 6 years and has seen many people come and go. However, in recent years, a new phenomenon has landed on our shores and has remained etched in our community - backseat moderating. Backseat Disruptive & Substandard Moderating (BDSM/Backseat Moderating) and how it hurts the server Let's all admit it. Some WolvHaveners have a serious problem. It's called Backseat Disruptive & Substandard Moderation. In this post, we will discuss what backseat moderating is, why you should not participate in it and the implications it may have on you if you do participate. What is backseat moderating? Second claims for Gardellians

Second claims for Gardellians

News
From 2 January 2018, all Gardellians will be entitled to having a second claim. To Summarize: You must have an existing claim that is over 250m in radius from the city centre You can only have 1 mainline station claim, but are allowed to have 2 that are out of reach of the gardellia station claim Be considerate - make your second claims architecturally different; not make carbon copies of cities Remember to follow the Gardellia claiming rules
